Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lawyer role based in Mumbai. The Lawyer will handle litigation and advisory matters, including drafting pleadings, contracts, legal notices, and opinions. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching case laws and statutes, preparing case strategies, appearing before courts and tribunals, and coordinating with clients for case updates and documentation. The role involves reviewing and analyzing legal documents, assessing risks, and working closely with senior advocates and colleagues to ensure effective representation. The Lawyer will also support business development by contributing to knowledge resources, participating in internal training, and maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications
Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret statutes, case laws, and regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency in drafting pleadings, contracts, affidavits, legal notices, and written opinions with attention to detail and clarity.
Experience in litigation practice, including court appearances, client representation, and coordination with counsel and court staff.
Effective client communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex legal issues in accessible terms.
High level of professional ethics, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information and sensitive matters.
Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced law firm environment.
LL.B. (or equivalent law degree) from an accredited institution and enrollment with the Bar Council of India; LL.M. is an advantage.
Prior experience in litigation or law firm practice in India, particularly in Mumbai courts, is preferred but not mandatory for strong candidates.
Familiarity with legal research databases and basic office productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, document management systems).
