Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Srinagar for a CDP or Sr. CDP specializing in desserts and viennoiserie. The role involves planning, preparing, and presenting a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked items, ensuring consistent quality, taste, and appearance. The CDP/Sr. CDP will manage daily mise en place, oversee baking schedules, and maintain inventory and ordering for dessert and viennoiserie sections. Responsibilities include guiding junior team members, enforcing hygiene and food safety standards, and coordinating with the Head Chef and other kitchen sections to support menu execution and special events. The role also includes contributing to new product development, testing recipes, and adapting offerings based on guest feedback and seasonal ingredients.

Qualifications
Strong experience in pastry, desserts, and viennoiserie production, including mixing, proofing, baking, and finishing.
Knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques, chocolate work, and plated dessert presentation.
Ability to manage section operations: planning mise en place, controlling waste, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
Experience training, mentoring, or supervising junior kitchen staff in a professional bakery or hotel environment.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with other kitchen sections and service teams.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
Relevant culinary or bakery/pastry qualification or diploma preferred; prior experience as CDP/Sr. CDP or equivalent in desserts/viennoiserie is highly desirable.
