Role Description The Medical Biller (Trainer) role is a part-time, remote position focused on teaching and mentoring learners in core medical billing concepts and practices. In this role, the trainer delivers online sessions, explains billing processes, and provides practical examples related to medical terminology, coding, denials management, and insurance guidelines. The trainer prepares training materials, reviews case studies, and evaluates learner performance through assignments and assessments. Daily tasks include answering learner questions, offering feedback, updating course content to reflect current regulations, and collaborating with the academic and operations teams to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of Medical Terminology and its application in medical billing and documentation.
Hands-on experience with ICD-10 coding and related billing processes.
Knowledge of Insurance billing procedures, including commercial payers and managed care plans.
Expertise in Medicare rules, reimbursement guidelines, and compliance requirements.
Practical experience in handling Denials, including analysis, correction, and resubmission.
Previous experience as a medical biller, medical coder, or revenue cycle specialist, preferably in a teaching or mentoring capacity.
Ability to explain complex concepts clearly, with strong communication and presentation skills in English.
Comfort with remote training tools, learning management systems, and basic office software.
Attention to detail, organized work habits, and the ability to manage multiple learners and sessions.
Relevant certification in medical billing/coding or healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.
