Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Looker Developer with 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, data visualization, and analytics. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Looker, LookML, SQL, data modeling, and dashboard development.
This is a contract / Part TIme position for candidates who can work effectively in a client-facing and project-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance Looker dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
Build and maintain LookML models, explorers, views, and derived tables.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.
Design scalable and efficient data models to support business reporting requirements.
Work closely with business users, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
Develop interactive dashboards and analytical reports based on business needs.
Optimize Looker performance, including queries, dashboards, and LookML code.
Implement data validation and ensure accuracy and consistency of reporting.
Troubleshoot issues related to Looker dashboards, LookML, SQL, and data sources.
Follow BI development best practices, including version control and deployment processes.
Participate in requirement gathering, technical discussions, testing, and production deployment.
Provide technical support and guidance to team members when required.
Required Skills:
6+ years of experience in BI/Data Analytics or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience with Looker and LookML.
Excellent knowledge of SQL, including complex queries, joins, CTEs, subqueries, and performance optimization.
Strong understanding of data modeling and dimensional modeling concepts.
Experience developing complex dashboards and reports in Looker.
Good understanding of databases and data warehouses.
Experience working with large datasets and optimizing analytical queries.
Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
Experience with ETL/ELT and modern data platforms.
Knowledge of Git/version control and CI/CD processes.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Experience integrating Looker with enterprise data platforms.
Experience in performance tuning and Looker administration is an added advantage.
