We are currently seeking a talented Principal Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. Primarily responsible for developing reliable and robust software, architecting and overseeing the design of our cloud-based systems, taking the lead in tackling complex problems across projects, and ensuring compliance with coding standards. You will also work closely with our product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high quality, scalable cloud solutions to clients, and with our management to design and implement novel ideas that merge efficient infrastructure design with profitable business initiatives
Responsibilities:
1. Develop robust and reliable software solutions
2. Architect, design, and document end-to-end cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure (or an equivalent major cloud platform, e.g., AWS).
3. Lead technical design reviews, establish architecture patterns, and enforce best practices across the stack.
4. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable system designs.
5. Provide accurate work-effort estimates and technical risk assessments for new features and system enhancements.
6. Guide the selection and adoption of emerging technologies and AI-assisted development tools to enhance team productivity.
7. Mentor and coach engineering teams; conduct architecture workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.
8. Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, cost optimization, and security/compliance reviews.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve high-severity production incidents; perform post-mortem analysis and implement corrective actions.
Skills:
1. 12-15 years of professional experience in software engineering, with hands-on experience architecting complete systems end-to-end (an individual-contributor Principal Engineer track).
2. Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure (or an equivalent major cloud platform, e.g., AWS) services.
3. Strong back-end development skills using C# (.NET Core).
4. Strong experience with database management systems, especially PostgreSQL.
5. Some hands-on experience integrating with IoT or connected devices over Bluetooth, WiFi, or Serial is required. Candidates with no such experience will not be considered.
6. Solid understanding of RESTful API design and event-driven communication patterns (exposure to microservices architecture is a plus, not a hard requirement).
7. Working knowledge of authentication and authorization standards (OAuth2/OpenID Connect, JWT/session tokens, RBAC) and where each must be enforced in a system.
8. Understanding of TLS/HTTPS and certificate/PKI fundamentals (handshake, certificate authorities, chain of trust, key management).
9. Awareness of common application security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and concrete mitigation techniques.
10. Experience with, or working knowledge of, regulated industries (healthcare, medical devices) and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, ISO 13485, or SOC 2.
11. Good working knowledge of front-end technologies (React.js, React Native, Next.js) - not expected at a deeply proficient level, but comfortable enough to read, review, and contribute to front-end code when needed.
Good to have:
1. Master’s degree in Computer Science, or relevant field.
2. Experience with Cybersecurity Procedures: Vulnerability Assessment, Static Code Analysis, Penetration Testing, etc.
3. Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certification.
4. Strong Experience in CI/CD platforms, including Azure DevOps.
5. Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes (including AKS).
6. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
8. Interest in emerging technologies and multiple tech-stacks.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
10. Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, security frameworks (OWASP), and compliance standards (ISO 13485, SOC 2).
11. Experience with AI-driven development assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
