Role Description This is a full time, on-site role based in Hosur for a Manager – Production (Pressure Vessel Manufacturing). The Manager – Production will oversee day-to-day shop-floor operations for pressure vessels, storage tanks, and related fabricated equipment, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and delivery requirements. Responsibilities include production planning and scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with design, procurement, and quality teams to meet project timelines and cost targets. The role will involve monitoring welding, fabrication, and assembly activities, resolving technical or process issues, and driving continuous improvement in productivity, throughput, and waste reduction. The manager will also lead, mentor, and develop production teams, enforce compliance with relevant codes and standards, and prepare regular reports on production performance and key metrics for senior management.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of pressure vessel and heavy fabrication processes, including welding, forming, machining, and assembly.
Experience in production planning, scheduling, and shop-floor management in a pressure vessel or heavy engineering environment.
Familiarity with relevant design and fabrication codes/standards (e.g., ASME, API, IBR or equivalent) and quality systems.
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, WPS/PQR, and technical specifications.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop diverse production teams with a focus on safety and performance.
Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement mindset (e.g., lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen).
Effective communication and coordination skills for cross-functional collaboration with design, procurement, quality, and logistics.
Ability to work on-site in Hosur and manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
Prior experience in pressure vessel manufacturing, heavy fabrication, or process equipment production in a managerial or supervisory role.
