Role Description The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhopal, responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations and ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently. The person in this position plans and schedules production activities, coordinates resources, and monitors workflow to maintain output, quality, and cost standards. Day-to-day tasks include supervising production teams, assigning tasks, tracking performance, and resolving operational issues that arise on the shop floor. The Production Manager ensures compliance with safety regulations and quality procedures, analyzes production data, and implements process improvements to reduce waste and downtime. This role also involves close collaboration with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and management teams to align production plans with customer requirements and organizational goals.
Qualifications
Strong production planning and line management skills, including capacity planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
Experience in supervising manufacturing teams, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
Knowledge of quality control practices, standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement methods (such as 5S, lean concepts, or basic root-cause analysis).
Ability to monitor and interpret production metrics, prepare reports, and use data to guide decisions and improvements.
Familiarity with workplace safety regulations, safe work practices, and incident reporting in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with basic computer tools and production-related software for documentation, scheduling, and communication.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities under deadlines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and coordinate with management.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience in a production leadership role may be considered in place of formal education.
Prior experience as a Production Supervisor or Production Manager in a manufacturing setting, preferably with exposure to high-volume or continuous production processes.
