Role: Store & Inventory Manager
The Store & Inventory Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Gurugram. The individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day store operations while maintaining complete control and accuracy of the store’s inventory.
This role requires someone who can balance premium customer service, team leadership, sales performance, visual presentation, and detailed inventory management. The Store & Inventory Manager will ensure that every aspect of the store reflects TheKalakriti’s standards of luxury, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations and Customer Experience
Oversee daily store operations and ensure the store functions efficiently.
Deliver a premium and personalized customer experience aligned with TheKalakriti’s brand values.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, exchanges, and escalations professionally.
Maintain high standards of store cleanliness, presentation, visual merchandising, and product placement.
Ensure all displayed products are correctly labelled, priced, and presented.
Manage store opening and closing procedures, cash handling, billing, POS operations, and daily sales reporting.
Support in-store events, product launches, customer-engagement activities, and brand activations.
Ensure adherence to company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards.
Sales and Team Management
Drive the store team towards achieving daily, monthly, and annual sales targets.
Monitor store performance, conversion rates, average order value, and other relevant retail metrics.
Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate team availability during weekends, holidays, and peak periods.
Train, supervise, and evaluate store employees.
Conduct regular team briefings on sales targets, new collections, product knowledge, and customer-service standards.
Motivate the team and address performance or operational concerns promptly.
Coordinate with leadership regarding store performance, staffing requirements, and improvement initiatives.
Inventory Management
Take complete responsibility for the accuracy, movement, availability, and condition of store inventory.
Manage the receipt, inspection, counting, tagging, barcoding, and storage of incoming products.
Prepare and verify Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), stock transfer records, delivery documentation, and inventory reports.
Maintain accurate SKU-level stock records across the POS, ERP, or inventory-management system.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment of fast-moving and low-stock products.
Conduct regular physical stock counts, cycle counts, and complete inventory audits.
Reconcile physical inventory with system records and investigate stock discrepancies.
Track damaged, defective, returned, missing, or slow-moving merchandise and maintain supporting records.
Manage stock transfers between the store, warehouse, vendors, and other locations.
Ensure fragile and high-value products are handled, stored, packed, and displayed safely.
Maintain proper stockroom organization so products can be easily located and accessed.
Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, logistics, accounts, sales, and e-commerce teams regarding stock availability and movement.
Support order fulfilment, customer deliveries, returns, and exchanges when required.
Implement inventory controls and retail loss-prevention measures to reduce damage, theft, misplacement, and shrinkage.
Prepare regular inventory reports covering stock ageing, sell-through, damaged goods, shortages, excess inventory, and replenishment needs.
Qualifications
Strong experience in store operations and inventory management, preferably within premium or luxury retail.
Previous experience in home décor, furniture, lifestyle, gifting, fashion, or other product-led retail categories is preferred.
Strong customer-service skills with a commitment to delivering a high-end retail experience.
Proven ability to supervise store teams, manage schedules, assign responsibilities, and monitor performance.
Hands-on experience with stock receiving, GRNs, stock transfers, inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, and physical audits.
Strong understanding of SKU management, barcoding, product tagging, stock replenishment, and stockroom organization.
Knowledge of retail loss-prevention practices and inventory-control procedures.
Ability to meet sales targets and analyse store performance and inventory reports.
Proficiency with POS systems, inventory-management software, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with CRM tools and omnichannel retail operations will be an advantage.
Strong numerical aptitude with excellent attention to detail and documentation.
Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and make practical decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.
Ability to work full-time on-site in Gurugram, including weekends, public holidays, and peak retail periods when required.
Relevant education in business, retail management, supply-chain management, inventory management, hospitality, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
