Data Migration Developer – Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE / Dataverse

Key Responsibilities
Data Migration Design & Planning
Design and execute end-to-end data migration strategies for Dynamics 365 CE / Dataverse.
Analyze source-system data structures, relationships, dependencies, and data quality.
Define migration approaches for standard and custom Dynamics 365 entities/tables.
Develop source-to-target mapping, migration sequencing, business rules, and validation strategies.
ETL & Data Transformation
Develop and execute ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data into Dynamics 365 / Dataverse.
Implement data cleansing, standardization, enrichment, and transformation rules.
Handle data type conversions, field mappings, default values, lookups, relationships, and reference data.
Build reusable migration scripts and processes while ensuring compliance with the Dataverse data model.
Duplicate Management, Matching & Survivorship
Design and implement duplicate detection and matching logic for CRM data.
Define matching criteria across customer and CRM records.
Implement merge rules and survivorship logic to identify and retain master records.
Identify and resolve data-quality issues before production migration.
Migration Execution
Perform data profiling and migration-readiness assessments.
Execute development, testing, and trial/mock migration loads.
Manage migration sequencing and dependencies across CRM entities.
Execute production migration, cutover activities, and post-production validation.
Reconciliation & Data Validation
Establish source-to-target control totals and reconciliation mechanisms.
Perform record-count, field-level, relationship, and lookup-integrity validation.
Identify and investigate discrepancies between source and target systems.
Prepare migration validation and reconciliation reports.
Defect & Exception Management
Analyze failed records, rejected records, transformation errors, and data-quality exceptions.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement appropriate remediation.
Collaborate with functional and technical teams to resolve migration defects.
Re-run corrected migration loads and maintain exception logs and remediation documentation.
Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with Dynamics 365 Functional Consultants, CRM Developers, and Integration Teams.
Support SIT, UAT, migration rehearsals, production cutover, and post-go-live activities.
Prepare migration mapping documents, technical specifications, validation reports, and runbooks.
Provide technical support during migration workshops and issue-resolution sessions.

Supporting & Reference Data
Experience managing relationships, dependencies, lookups, and sequencing across CRM entities is highly desirable.
What We’re Looking For
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE / Dataverse data migration.
Experience with ETL, data transformation, cleansing, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
Strong understanding of CRM data models, entity/table relationships, lookups, and dependencies.
Experience with duplicate management, matching, merging, and data survivorship.
Ability to manage migration activities across development, SIT, UAT, mock migration, and production cutover.
