SAP CPI developer

We are looking for an experienced SAP CPI/API Developer responsible for designing, developing, and supporting real-time integrations between SAP systems and external applications through APIs and middleware platforms. The role primarily focuses on exposing SAP business events (such as Purchase Requisition (PR) and Purchase Order (PO) release events, GRN Post, Invoice Post) via APIs and enabling seamless communication with middleware platforms (SAP Integration Suite/CPI).

Key Responsibilities API Development & Integration
Responsibilities
Design and develop REST/SOAP APIs for SAP business processes.
Build real-time integrations triggered by SAP events (e.g., PO/PR release).
Expose SAP data using:
OData Services (V2,V4)
REST APIs
RFC/BAPI wrappers
CDS Views & RAP (preferred)
Develop APIs to send transactional data to middleware systems.
Implement event-driven integrations for the SAP Master and Transactional Data.
Capture SAP business events using:
BAdIs
User Exits
Enhancement Spots
Workflow events
Trigger outbound API calls upon business events.
Integrate SAP APIs with middleware platforms such as:
SAP Integration Suite (CPI)
SAP BTP APIs
Configure payload mapping and message transformation.
Ensure secure communication between SAP and middleware.
Develop ABAP-based API services and integrations.
Work with:
ABAP OO
Web Services
HTTP(s) Client APIs (CL_HTTP_CLIENT)
JSON/XML processing
Handle synchronous and asynchronous integrations.
Implement API authentication:
OAuth 2.0
API Keys
Basic Authentication
Ensure secure data exchange.
Follow API lifecycle and governance standards.
Monitor API integrations and troubleshoot failures.
Analyze middleware logs and SAP application logs.
Provide L2/L3 support for integration issues.
Optimize API performance and reliability.
Qualifications
SAP Technical Skill
Experienced in Standard APIs (API.SAP.COM) & Customization
Strong SAP ABAP development experience
OData Service development (SEGW/RAP)
SAP S/4HANA integration architecture
BAPI/RFC/Web Services
