2. ROLE PURPOSE & STRATEGIC MANDATE
The Head of Investments & Insurance is a executive leadership role at BharatPe responsible for driving overall strategy, P&L, product innovation, and business scale for WealthTech and Insurance verticals. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the role holder will define and execute the long-term vision across retail mutual funds, fixed deposits, digital gold/silver, stock trading, and insurance products for both merchant and consumer segments. By partnering closely with cross-functional leaders in Product, Technology, Risk, Marketing, and Operations, this executive will establish strategic alliances with Asset Management Companies, insurance providers, banks, and regulatory bodies to build seamless digital wealth solutions. The mandate combines scaling Assets Under Management and Gross Written Premium with rigorous regulatory compliance, user trust, operational excellence, and unit-economic profitability across India.
Define and execute the end-to-end business strategy and P&L roadmap for BharatPe's WealthTech and Insurance verticals to drive market share and sustainable revenue growth.
Build strategic distribution partnerships and integrations with Asset Management Companies, insurance underwriters, banks, and fintech infrastructure providers.
Champion customer-centric product innovation across Mutual Funds, Fixed Deposits, Digital Gold, Equities, and Life/General Insurance tailored for merchants and consumers.
Establish robust governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance frameworks in full alignment with SEBI, IRDAI, RBI, and corporate policies.
Lead and mentor high-performing cross-functional teams while driving data-led customer acquisition, engagement, and Assets Under Management (AUM) retention.
3. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Vision and Business P&L Leadership
Formulate the multi-year strategy and annual operating plan for the Investments and Insurance business units, ensuring alignment with overall enterprise objectives and growth targets.
Drive complete P&L accountability by managing revenue targets, gross margins, customer acquisition costs, and operational expenses across all wealth and insurance product lines.
Evaluate market trends, competitor landscapes, and merchant/consumer financial behaviors to identify high-potential expansion opportunities in wealth creation and risk protection.
Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystem Ecosystem Development
Negotiate, structure, and nurture key commercial relationships with Asset Management Companies, broking platforms, non-banking financial companies, and insurance underwriters to ensure competitive product sourcing.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and legal counsel to proactively navigate policy shifts and secure necessary licenses for seamless product expansion.
Drive deep integration with banking and payment alliance partners to deliver instant settlement, automated recurring investments, and frictionless premium collection pipelines.
Product Strategy, Innovation and User Experience
Lead product lifecycle management in close collaboration with Product and Tech teams to launch intuitive digital wealth solutions including SIPs, high-yield FDs, digital bullion, and micro-insurance products.
Leverage advanced data analytics and personalization tools to design contextually relevant investment and insurance recommendations for merchants within the BharatPe app ecosystem.
Continuously optimize user onboarding journeys, digital KYC, risk profiling, policy issuance, and claims workflows to minimize friction and maximize conversion rates.
Governance, Risk Management and Operational Compliance
Implement comprehensive regulatory compliance frameworks governing SEBI, IRDAI, and RBI mandates to uphold organizational integrity, legal compliance, and customer trust.
Establish rigorous risk controls, fraud detection protocols, and cybersecurity alignment across all financial transactions and sensitive user investment data portfolios.
Institute robust customer support, claim settlement, and grievance redressal mechanisms to ensure standard-setting service quality and high merchant and consumer retention.
Organizational Leadership and Strategic Alignment
Build, mentor, and scale a world-class team of domain specialists across business development, product management, strategic alliances, and investment operations.
Foster cross-functional synergy with Marketing, Sales Excellence, and Field Operations to drive offline and online distribution, merchant training, and digital campaign performance.
Represent the Investments & Insurance vertical at executive committee meetings, board reviews, and external industry forums as a key strategic spokesperson for BharatPe.
