Job Title: Site Engineer – Electrical & Lighting Automation
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Site Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing electrical work, lighting automation systems, and ensuring smooth project execution on-site. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure that electrical systems and lighting automation are designed, implemented, and maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lighting Automation Systems:
Oversee the installation and commissioning of lighting automation systems (e.g., smart lighting, dimming systems, motion sensors).
Ensure proper wiring, installation, and integration of automation systems with building management systems (BMS) and other control systems. Troubleshoot, maintain, and resolve issues related to lighting automation systems on-site.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure and manage materials for lighting automation projects.
Project Coordination & Site Management:
Act as the primary point of contact between the project team and subcontractors for all electrical and lighting automation work.
Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure they align with the project scope.
Prepare and update work schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks while adhering to budget and quality standards.
Monitor the progress of electrical and lighting automation work, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Perform quality control checks and tests to ensure that electrical and lighting systems meet required specifications.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations during installation, testing, and maintenance activities.
Document and report any deviations or issues from the project plan, and collaborate with the team to resolve them promptly.
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving:
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on-site, providing solutions to ensure minimal disruption to the project.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to lighting automation systems, ensuring smooth operation and integration.
Health & Safety:
Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and ensuring all team members follow safety protocols.
Conduct site safety inspections and maintain safety logs for electrical work and lighting automation installations.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare regular progress reports on electrical and lighting automation work, including status updates, challenges, and milestones.
Maintain detailed records of all electrical installations, test results, and maintenance activities.
Provide documentation on as-built drawings, system layouts, and any necessary technical manuals for the client.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in electrical work, with a focus on lighting automation or smart building systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, lighting automation technologies, and smart building solutions.
Experience in managing electrical installations and lighting automation systems on construction sites.
Proficiency in electrical design software and AutoCAD (or similar tools) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, coordinating with various stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in electrical installation or lighting control systems (e.g., KNX, Lutron, DALI) is a plus.
Experience with building management systems (BMS) integration.
Knowledge of energy-efficient lighting solutions and sustainable practices.
