QA Functional Specialist
Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned QA Functional Specialist to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will own the end-to-end validation of business-critical application logic, workflow engines, and backend data. A key differentiator for this position is exposure to Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) applications, with a strong preference for candidates possessing hands-on functional exposure to the OneTrust platform. You will ensure that consumer privacy rights, cookie compliance, assessment automation, and data governance features align fully with product blueprints and complex international regulatory framework standards.
Core Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis: Deconstruct complex business requirements, acceptance criteria, and user stories into clear, comprehensive test strategies.
Functional Test Design: Author, review, and maintain exhaustive manual test scenarios and test cases that deeply validate end-to-end business workflows.
GRC Domain Validation: Conduct functional and business-logic testing within compliance-focused modules, validating data maps, assessments, and consent workflows.
OneTrust Configuration Audit: Verify the functional behaviors of configured OneTrust modules, ensuring privacy choice triggers, cookie consent banners, and regulatory audit logging behave exactly as specified.
Backend Verification: Execute structural SQL database queries to inspect data transformations, audit trails, and relational tables behind the application UI.
Defect Lifecycle Management: Identify, isolate, document, and track software bugs within Jira or Azure DevOps, collaborating tightly with teams through resolution.
Regression & Impact Mapping: Perform risk-based regression testing when application fixes are introduced.
Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in standard agile rituals, including sprint planning, daily scrums, product demos, and retrospectives.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 3 to 6 years of pure functional software quality assurance testing experience across complex, enterprise-grade business software platforms.
GRC/Privacy Exposure: Prior hands-on experience or direct exposure to a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool. Specific experience with OneTrust (e.g., Privacy Management, Cookie Consent, DSAR, or Vendor Risk) is highly desired.
Methodology Mastery: Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) models in fast-paced Agile/Scrum environments.
Data Validation Tools: Competency writing relational database queries (SQL Select statements, Joins, and Filters) to independently verify analytical backend logging.
Tooling Expertise: Working mastery of lifecycle test suites, specifically Jira, Zephyr, or Azure DevOps Test Plans.
Analytical Instincts: Strong investigative skills with a clear ability to locate root causes of complex integration glitches or edge-case functional failures.
Communication Ability: Articulate verbal and written communication, with the ability to confidently present bug metrics and quality checkpoints to engineering leads.
