Job Purpose
The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for managing all Quality Control and laboratory activities related to Personal Care and Cosmetic products. The role includes ensuring timely testing, compliance, accuracy of results, laboratory management, team handling, and adherence to GMP, GLP and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Overall management and operation of the QC Laboratory, including Chemical and Microbiology sections.
Ensure timely sampling, testing, approval/rejection and release recommendations for Raw Materials, Bulk and Finished Goods.
Manage testing of key parameters such as Appearance, Colour, Odour, pH, Viscosity, Specific Gravity, Active Content and Microbiological parameters.
Ensure testing is conducted as per approved specifications, SOPs and test methods.
Review and approve Test Reports, COAs, laboratory records and analytical data.
Manage laboratory equipment, including calibration, qualification, maintenance and breakdown coordination.
Plan and execute Stability Studies and maintain stability data and reports.
Investigate OOS, OOT, deviations and laboratory failures and ensure Root Cause Analysis and CAPA implementation.
Coordinate with Production, QA, NPD and Regulatory teams for product quality-related activities.
Support testing and evaluation of NPD, trial batches, pilot batches and commercial products.
Coordinate with external NABL/accredited laboratories for specialized testing, wherever required.
Ensure proper implementation of GMP, GLP, GDP and applicable Quality Management Systems.
Maintain all laboratory documentation, including SOPs, specifications, STPs, test records, COAs, calibration records and retain samples.
Ensure laboratory readiness for internal, customer and regulatory audits and timely closure of observations.
Lead, train and develop the QC team and ensure adequate manpower and competency.
Drive continuous improvement in laboratory efficiency, testing TAT and quality systems.
