Senior Relationship Manager – Asset Management
Your role & work environment
As a Senior Relationship Manager – Asset Management, you will be responsible for managing and developing ING's strategic relationships with external Asset Managers across the ING Retail network. You will act as the central point of contact between ING and its Asset Manager partners, driving commercial value, strengthening governance and ensuring alignment across ING entities.
You will work in an international environment and collaborate closely with investment teams, product management, sales, advisory and private banking stakeholders, as well as senior representatives of leading Asset Managers.
Your key responsibilitiesAsset Manager Relationship Management
Act as the primary relationship manager for Asset Managers across ING entities.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key Asset Managers to support ING's investment and commercial objectives.
Organise and lead regular governance meetings, operational reviews and strategic partnership discussions.
Challenge Asset Managers on product relevance, performance, competitiveness and service quality.
Serve as the escalation point for partnership-related issues and coordinate their resolution with relevant stakeholders.
Commercial Steering and Partnership Development
Drive the commercial management of Asset Manager partnerships across the ING network.
Identify opportunities to increase the distribution and adoption of selected investment solutions in line with ING's strategy.
Lead or support negotiations on management fees, institutional pricing, rebates, mandates, share classes and commercial agreements.
Provide Asset Managers with feedback on sales dynamics, client demand trends and market developments.
Contribute to the optimisation of ING's product shelf in close collaboration with Product Management and Investment teams.
Governance, Coordination and Performance Oversight
Ensure consistent partnership management and governance across ING entities.
Coordinate internal stakeholders including Investment, Product Management, Sales, Advisory and Senior Management teams.
Monitor Asset Manager performance and conduct comparative analyses against benchmarks and peers.
Identify risks, performance concerns and strategic opportunities and present recommendations to stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including MiFID II and SFDR, and adherence to ING policies and governance frameworks.

As a Senior Relationship Manager – Asset Management, you will also need:
Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
Significant experience within Asset Management, Wealth Management, Fund Distribution or Investment Management.
Strong understanding of investment products, fund structures, mandates and distribution economics.
Proven experience managing senior external partners and complex stakeholder environments.
Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated negotiation experience.
Knowledge of European investment regulation, including MiFID II and SFDR.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess investment performance and commercial opportunities.
Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to operate autonomously in an international and highly matrixed environment.
Fluency in English. Additional European languages are considered an asset.
