Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Academic Counsellor role based in Hyderabad. The Academic Counsellor will guide students on course selection, exam preparation pathways, and long-term academic goals, ensuring alignment with their interests and abilities. Responsibilities include conducting one-on-one and group counseling sessions, providing career guidance, and offering academic advising related to school and competitive exam performance. The role involves regular interaction with parents/guardians to discuss student progress, addressing concerns, and suggesting appropriate support or interventions. The Academic Counsellor will also collaborate with faculty and administrative teams, maintain accurate counseling records, support student orientation and workshops, and contribute to student retention and overall learning outcomes.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills, with the ability to support diverse learners.
Candidates should possess clear and empathetic Communication skills, including active listening and the ability to explain options and processes effectively.
Candidates should possess Career Counseling and Education-related skills to guide students on academic pathways and future opportunities.
Relevant bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience in academic counseling, coaching institutes, schools, or test preparation environments is an advantage.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff, with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Comfort with using basic computer applications and student information systems for tracking and reporting.
