Role Description The Air Cargo Manager is a full-time, on-site role for various key locations across India. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day cargo operations, including planning and coordinating freight movements, monitoring handling processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role involves managing relationships with airline partners, freight forwarders, and customers, as well as driving cargo sales initiatives and revenue growth. The Air Cargo Manager will prepare and review budgets, track performance metrics, and optimize logistics workflows to maintain efficiency and service quality. The role also includes supervising team members, resolving operational issues, and providing timely reporting to senior management.
Qualifications
Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage client relationships and resolve issues effectively.
Proficiency in freight and logistics management, including experience in coordinating cargo operations and supply chain activities.
Demonstrated sales skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding cargo revenue targets.
Experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial planning for operational departments.
Knowledge of air cargo regulations, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Proven team leadership and people management skills in an operational environment.
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field; relevant certifications in cargo or aviation operations are an advantage.
Comfort with using cargo management systems, MS Office tools, and data reporting software.
