PEGGS INDIA is among the top producers of processed egg products in India, supplying ingredients for bakery, confectionery, ready meals, baby food, and catering. A dedicated in-house laboratory conducts comprehensive physical, chemical, and microbiological testing to maintain high quality standards and product traceability.
Role Description This full-time, on-site Quality Control Microbiologist role is based at the PEGGS INDIA plant in Rajpura. The role involves performing routine microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished egg products to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Microbiologist will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, prepare media and reagents, and document test results with high accuracy. Daily responsibilities include monitoring hygiene conditions, supporting root-cause analysis of quality deviations, and collaborating with production teams to implement corrective actions. The role also includes contributing to continuous improvement of laboratory methods, participating in internal audits, and supporting validation of new processes or products.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Quality Control skills, including familiarity with food safety standards and quality assurance procedures.
Candidates should possess solid Laboratory Skills and proficiency in handling Laboratory Equipment used for microbiological and chemical testing.
Candidates should possess Microbiology expertise and Analytical Skills to interpret test data, identify trends, and support investigations.
Candidates should possess attention to detail, strong documentation and reporting abilities, and basic computer proficiency for data entry and analysis.
Relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, or related field); a master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience in food, dairy, or poultry processing laboratories and familiarity with HACCP, ISO, or similar quality frameworks is beneficial.
Ability to work collaboratively with production and quality teams, follow SOPs, and adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards.
