About the Role
We are looking for a Manual Test Engineer with strong API Testing experience to join our growing QA team.
The ideal candidate will have 2–6 years of experience in Manual Testing, hands-on experience with API testing, and a strong understanding of software testing methodologies.
Experience in the Insurance domain is highly preferred. Candidates with relevant experience in insurance applications, policy management, claims, underwriting, or related BFSI workflows will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end test cases.
Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
Validate REST/SOAP APIs, request and response payloads, status codes, error handling, and data integrity.
Analyze business and functional requirements and prepare detailed test scenarios and test cases.
Perform thorough manual testing of web and mobile applications (iOS/Android).
Test business workflows and validate application functionality against defined requirements.
Identify, document, track, and retest defects using JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar defect management tools.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve defects.
Perform regression testing to ensure new features and fixes do not impact existing functionality.
Participate in test planning, effort estimation, test strategy, and release activities.
Ensure quality standards and product requirements are met before application release.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and QA practices.
Insurance Domain Experience
Candidates with experience in Insurance applications are preferred.
Exposure to any of the following areas will be an advantage:
Policy Management
Policy Creation and Issuance
Insurance Quotations
Premium Calculation
Policy Renewal
Policy Endorsements
Claims Processing
Customer/Agent Portals
Insurance-related APIs and integrations
Required Skills & Experience
2–6 years of hands-on Manual Testing experience.
Strong experience in API Testing.
Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, or similar API testing tools.
Good understanding of REST/SOAP APIs.
Strong knowledge of Functional, Integration, Regression, System, and End-to-End Testing.
Experience in preparing and executing test cases and test scenarios.
Experience in Web and Mobile Application Testing.
Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, Defect Life Cycle, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Good to Have
Insurance domain experience.
Experience testing insurance products, policy management, claims, underwriting, or related workflows.
Basic knowledge of SQL/Database Testing for data validation.
Familiarity with Charles Proxy, Fiddler, or Browser Developer Tools.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Knowledge of API integrations and third-party system integrations.
