What we are looking for
NRC is looking for a Humanitarian Policy Manager to join the Myanmar mission. The role holder will provide overall leadership, management, and strategic direction to the policy and advocacy work in Myanmar. He/she will identify priority protection concerns for advocacy, strength the incorporation of advocacy into NRC activities, and guide the advocacy messaging to promote an improved protection and humanitarian response environment.

What you will do
Advocacy response identification and prioritisation, including issues related to protection and humanitarian access.
Advocacy strategy development and implementation.
Advocacy and communications messaging strategic delivery coordination to maximise impact.
Advocacy coherence and synergies with programmes.
Advocacy training, capacity building, and induction of new staff.
Humanitarian and displacement analysis provision, including preparing public-facing advocacy products.
Media lines and media strategy advice, ensuring potential risks are assessed and procedures adhered to.
NRC representation and advocacy.
Strategic advocacy networks strengthening.

What you will bring
Manager/Adviser experience within the humanitarian field.
Protection principles and advocacy knowledge.
Media for public advocacy exposure.
Policy processes expertise, relating to forced displacement, migration, and humanitarian response framework.
Analysis, messaging, coordination, and networking experience.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Complex and volatile context exposure.
English fluency, both written and verbal.

What we offer
Yangon, Myanmar or Bangkok, Thailand duty station, subject to receiving appropriate documentation. Currently, international visas and work permits are subject to considerable delays.
12-month contract duration.
20% travel, approximately.
Grade 9 in NRC’s Salary Scale, with accompanying terms and conditions. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
