About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Business & Data Analyst who can take ownership of business data and convert it into meaningful insights for the leadership team.
The person will work closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Founders to bring data from different functions and platforms together, create a single source of truth, analyse business performance and support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Business & P&L Analysis
Own and consolidate business data across different functions.
Prepare and analyse monthly P&L, revenue, COGS, gross margin and profitability.
Analyse SKU/product-level profitability and contribution margins.
Track revenue, expenses, production costs, procurement costs, wastage and operational expenses.
Identify cost leakages, inefficiencies and opportunities to improve margins.
Analyse business performance against budgets, targets and previous periods.
Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
ERP & Data Management
Work extensively with the company's ERP system to extract, validate and analyse business data.
Consolidate data across finance, inventory, procurement, production, sales and operations.
Ensure ERP data and financial/operational data are accurately aligned.
Build a reliable single source of truth for management reporting.
Identify data discrepancies and work with respective teams to resolve them.
Improve and automate existing reporting and data processes.
Quick Commerce & Channel Analytics
Analyse performance across Quick Commerce platforms such as Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart and other relevant channels.
Track channel-wise sales, discounts, commissions, margins, returns, inventory and profitability.
Analyse SKU-wise performance across Quick Commerce channels.
Evaluate channel-level contribution and profitability.
Identify opportunities to improve sales, margins, assortment and inventory availability.
Reconcile Quick Commerce platform data with ERP and internal business data.
MIS & Business Intelligence
Build and maintain MIS, dashboards and management reports.
Create dashboards for sales, profitability, inventory, procurement, production and operational performance.
Develop daily, weekly and monthly business performance trackers.
Identify key trends, deviations and business risks.
Automate repetitive reporting wherever possible.
Present key insights and recommendations to the leadership team.
Cross-Functional & Leadership Support
Work closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing and Procurement teams.
Partner with the Founders and senior leadership on data-driven business decisions.
Provide ad-hoc analysis for new products, channels, pricing, costs and business initiatives.
Translate complex data into simple, actionable business insights.
Clearly communicate not only what happened, but why it happened and what should be done next.
Requirements
4–7 years of experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, MIS, FP&A, Business Intelligence or a similar role.
Experience in Food, FMCG, D2C, Retail or Food-Tech is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of P&L, COGS, revenue, gross margins, contribution margins and profitability.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems.
Experience working with Quick Commerce / Marketplace data is strongly preferred.
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
