Job Description: Finance Lead – India GCC
Position: Finance Lead – India GCC Location: Delhi NCR Reporting to: Global CFO , with a dotted line to India GCC Head Team Size: Approximately 20 finance professionals Industry: SaaS, ERP and cloud-based financial technology
Role Summary
The Finance Lead will establish and manage the finance and accounting function of the India GCC and lead a team of approximately 20 professionals. The person will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting, month-end close, management reporting, financial controls, compliance, budgeting support, process improvement and effective coordination with the global finance organization.
The successful candidate should be comfortable operating in a global SaaS/ERP environment, managing a sizeable team, working with Sage and related finance systems, and supporting entities and stakeholders in USA , Australia and New Zealand.
The role requires a hands-on finance leader who can build scalable processes while also acting as a trusted business partner to the India GCC Head, global CFO, business unit leaders and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
•
Lead the finance function of the India GCC and manage a team of approximately 20 employees.
•
Establish a high-performing, service-oriented finance culture focused on accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.
•
Support workforce planning, hiring, retention, productivity measurement and succession planning for the finance team.
•
Oversee general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, Revenue Accounting , Deal Desk and intercompany accounting.
•
Manage the complete month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process.
•
Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, account schedules and variance analysis.
•
Ensure proper revenue, expense and cost-centre classification in accordance with company policies.
•
Manage intercompany transactions, confirmations, reconciliations and eliminations.
•
Establish and monitor accounting policies, standard operating procedures and financial control checklists.
•
Ensure appropriate documentation and audit trails for all material accounting activities.
•
Prepare monthly management reports, financial dashboards and performance packs.
•
Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-range planning.
•
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and consultants
•
Review related-party transactions and ensure appropriate documentation and approvals.
•
Ensure compliance with the group’s accounting policies and reporting calendar.
•
Support reporting under US GAAP, IFRS or other applicable group accounting standards.
•
Coordinate with the global controllership team on technical accounting matters.
•
Prepare reporting schedules and supporting information for global consolidation.
•
Support revenue recognition, deferred revenue, contract accounting and customer-related accounting processes, as applicable to a SaaS business.
•
Design, implement and monitor internal financial controls for the India GCC.
•
Establish approval matrices for procurement, payments, expenses, journals and contracts.
•
Monitor access controls and user permissions in Sage and other finance applications.
•
Ensure compliance with the group’s delegation-of-authority framework.
•
Standardize finance processes across teams and geographies.
•
Improve data quality, chart of accounts, financial dimensions and reporting hierarchies.
•
Develop process documentation, control narratives and operating manuals.
•
Use Power BI or similar tools to improve visibility into finance performance.
•
The ideal candidate should understand the financial characteristics of a SaaS and ERP business, including subscription revenue , recurring revenue metrics, annual recurring revenue, monthly recurring revenue and deferred revenue.
•
Customer contracts, renewals, Contract profitability and implementation project accounting.
Required Qualifications and Skills
•
Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
•
Approximately 8–12 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
•
At least 5 years of experience managing finance teams of 10 or more professionals.
•
Experience in a GCC, shared-services, BPO, SaaS, technology, ERP or multinational environment.
•
Strong experience in controllership, accounting operations, financial reporting and internal controls.
•
Working knowledge of Sage, preferably Sage Intacct, Sage 300, Sage X3 or the specific Sage platform used by the company.
•
Experience with US GAAP, IFRS or other international reporting frameworks.
•
Experience working with global stakeholders and overseas headquarters.
•
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Power BI or other reporting tools.
•
