Purpose
Own patent research projects end to end across all our service lines, combining agentic AI with targeted manual searching to deliver client-ready, reproducible results.
Key Responsibilities
Plan the research approach; design and iterate AI prompts; run agentic search chains; fill gaps through targeted manual searching.
Build claim-element mappings and Evidence-of-Use (EoU) charts with precise citations; ensure every result is reproducible and backed by traceable evidence.
Write client-ready sections (method, sources, conclusions) and flag risks and assumptions clearly.
Improve prompt libraries, search patterns, and QA (quality-assurance) checklists; guide junior colleagues through review feedback.
Must-have
2–6+ years in patent research (novelty, invalidation, claim charts, drafting support).
Strong grasp of claims, patent families, citations, and CPC/IPC classifications, with clear technical writing.
Patent & IP Expertise
Solid background in patent research and analytics: novelty, invalidation, landscape, claim charts, and drafting support.
Experience interpreting claims, patent families, CPC/IPC classifications, citations, and essentiality analysis.
Familiarity with standard-essential patents (SEP) and exposure to global patent databases (USPTO, EPO, WIPO, Google Patents, Espacenet).
Ability to draft claim-element mapping (EoU) and technical documentation aligned with patent standards.
Education Background
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering & Biotech Engineering or related fields.
Strong understanding of the fundamentals relevant to your discipline — e.g., digital systems, signal processing, VLSI, semiconductor devices, wireless communication, and embedded systems (ECE/EE), or mechanical systems and design fundamentals (Mechanical).
Exposure to AI/ML applications in your domain (e.g., computer vision, IoT, 5G/6G communications, predictive maintenance, CAD/CAE automation).
Knowledge of IP law basics, the patent life cycle, and patent analytics.
Tools (examples)
AI & agentic: ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini; orchestration/agent tools; prompt libraries; evaluation sets.
Patent / non-patent literature (NPL): Google Patents, Espacenet, Patentscope, USPTO/PAIR; commercial analytics tools as assigned.
Other: translators, spreadsheets, basic data/visual aids.
KPIs
First-Time-Right (FTR) and audit pass-rate; turnaround-time (TAT) adherence.
Low defect leakage; contributions to team playbooks.
Adoption of AI-assisted workflows.
Leveling Notes
Strategist: Independent on standard/medium-complexity work; occasional reviews.
Senior Strategist: Anchors complex scopes; optimizes prompt patterns; conducts peer reviews and root-cause analysis.
Service Scope
Covers Novelty/Patentability, Invalidation/Opposition, Claim Charts/EoU, Drafting Support, and SEP essentiality. All tools are used with human verification.
