Role Description The Civil Engineer Intern will support the development and review of residential and commercial building designs within Galleonbuild’s platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in civil engineering design tasks, analyzing site and layout requirements, and contributing to planning for grading, drainage, and utilities. The intern will collaborate with senior team members to incorporate stormwater management considerations into project designs and help ensure compliance with relevant standards and best practices. This is a remote internship role, with work conducted online and communication managed through digital collaboration tools.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to apply these skills to residential and commercial projects.
Understanding of Planning principles related to site layout, grading, and infrastructure for small to mid-size builds.
Basic knowledge of Stormwater Management practices and their application in building and site design.
Enrollment in or completion of a degree program in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
Comfort with digital tools, CAD or similar design software, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a remote environment.
Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and willingness to learn from feedback and mentorship.
Familiarity with local building codes or regulations is a plus, along with any prior internship or project experience in engineering or construction.
