Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Test Engineer role based in the Pune Division. The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing test procedures for medium and low voltage switchgear products, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Daily activities include creating and reviewing test cases, performing functional testing, analyzing test results, documenting findings, and collaborating with design, production, and quality teams to resolve issues. The role involves leading test activities for new product introductions, maintaining test equipment and setups, and supporting root cause analysis for product failures. The Senior Test Engineer also contributes to process improvements, test automation initiatives where applicable, and mentoring junior team members in testing best practices.
Qualifications
Strong Test Engineering background, including experience in test planning and test design for electrical or electromechanical products.
Hands-on Test Execution skills with the ability to set up, run, and monitor tests safely on switchgear or related equipment.
Proficiency in creating, maintaining, and reviewing Test Cases aligned with product requirements and industry standards.
Solid foundation in Testing methodologies, including Functional Testing for medium and low voltage systems.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in power systems or switchgear engineering.
Working knowledge of relevant IEC/IS standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes for electrical distribution equipment.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications, and translate them into test requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective actions.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers or technicians in test procedures and safety practices is an advantage.
