Role Description The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division, responsible for overseeing daily fabrication operations and ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role involves planning and scheduling jobs, allocating resources, coordinating with design, procurement, and quality teams, and monitoring work progress on the shop floor. The Production Manager will supervise and guide production staff, resolve operational issues, optimize workflows, and ensure adherence to safety and compliance requirements. The position also includes tracking production metrics, managing timelines, controlling costs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in heavy fabrication processes. Regular communication with management and customers regarding project status, risks, and delivery commitments is expected.
Qualifications
Experience managing production operations in heavy fabrication, machining, or related manufacturing environments.
Strong skills in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for multiple parallel projects.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, fabrication standards, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of quality control practices, inspection procedures, and compliance with relevant industry standards.
Proficiency in using production management tools or ERP systems and basic MS Office applications.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team supervision, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Solid understanding of workplace safety practices and implementation of safety protocols on the shop floor.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and cost optimization.
Effective communication and coordination skills for working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
Prior experience in the Pune industrial region or similar manufacturing clusters is an advantage.
