Job Description – Accountant / Senior Accountant

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Accountant / Senior Accountant who can independently manage the company’s complete accounting, GST, taxation, payroll and financial compliance activities.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, filing statutory returns on time, coordinating with the company’s CA and ensuring that all accounts and compliance requirements are properly managed.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage complete day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping.
* Maintain purchase, sales, expense, payment and receipt entries.
* Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
* Prepare and maintain invoices, vouchers, ledgers and supporting documents.
* Perform regular bank, cash, vendor and customer reconciliations.
* Manage GST compliance, including:
* GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B filing
* GST reconciliation
* Input Tax Credit verification
* E-invoicing and e-way bills, wherever applicable
* Responding to GST notices in coordination with the CA
* Calculate and file TDS returns and ensure timely TDS payments.
* Handle Professional Tax, PF, ESI and other statutory compliances, wherever applicable.
* Manage employee payroll, salary calculations, deductions and reimbursements.
* Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports and MIS reports.
* Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on receivables.
* Assist in budgeting, expense control and financial planning.
* Support income-tax filings, tax audits and statutory audits.
* Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, auditors, banks and government departments.
* Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions and compliance filings.
* Ensure that all tax payments and statutory returns are completed within the prescribed deadlines.
* Provide management with regular financial reports and updates.
* Maintain confidentiality of the company’s financial and employee information.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance (B.Com preferred).
* M.Com, MBA Finance, CA Inter or CMA Inter candidates will be preferred.
* Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
* Strong practical knowledge of GST, TDS, income tax and statutory compliance.
* Experience in independently managing complete company accounts.
* Proficiency in Tally Prime, MS Excel and accounting software.
* Knowledge of payroll processing, PF, ESI and Professional Tax.
* Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to meet compliance deadlines.
* Good communication and coordination skills.
* Knowledge of Karnataka-specific Professional Tax and other applicable regulations will be preferred.
Preferred Candidate
* Currently residing in Bengaluru.
* Available to work full-time from the office.
* Able to join immediately or within a short notice period.
* Experience working with a Private Limited Company, LLP, training institute or service-based company will be an advantage.
* Capable of independently taking ownership of the complete accounts department.
