Role Description The Physical Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Andhra Pradesh, India, responsible for overseeing the school’s physical education and sports programs. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering age-appropriate physical education classes, organizing sports activities and competitions, and supervising regular practice sessions. The role involves designing fitness programs, ensuring safe use of equipment and facilities, and promoting health, wellness, and sportsmanship among students. The Physical Director collaborates with school leadership and teaching staff to integrate physical education into the broader curriculum, manages scheduling and resource allocation for sports events, and maintains accurate records of student participation and performance. The position also requires monitoring student safety during activities, enforcing relevant guidelines and policies, and engaging with parents and guardians regarding students’ physical development and achievements.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of physical education principles, sports training methods, and student fitness development.
Experience in planning and conducting structured physical education classes, sports practices, and school-level competitions.
Ability to manage sports facilities and equipment, including safety checks and basic maintenance coordination.
Skills in guiding diverse student groups, promoting teamwork, discipline, and fair play in all physical activities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families in a collaborative school environment.
Capability to design inclusive programs that accommodate different ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field; relevant certifications in coaching or first aid are an advantage.
Prior experience as a physical education teacher, coach, or sports coordinator in a school or similar setting is preferred.
