Role Description
The Junior Fashion and Textile Designer will support the design team in developing collections that highlight indigenous textiles and techniques in a modern light. This full-time, on-site role in Ahmedabad involves creating textile prints and graphics, contributing to elevated embroidery concepts, and assisting in translating design ideas into detailed technical specifications. The designer will participate in mood board creation, fabric and trim exploration, developing motifs, creating innovative embroideries and textures and sample development, working closely with artisans and production teams to ensure design integrity and quality. Daily responsibilities also include preparing design documentation, viduwl presentation of products for marketing, updating style sheets, supporting fittings and revisions, and maintaining consistent communication with cross-functional partners to meet timelines.
Qualifications
Ability to work with Embroidery and Textiles, including an understanding of fabric behavior and surface ornamentation.
Proficiency in Textile Prints and Graphics, with an eye for pattern development and color coordination.
Skills in Graphic Design for fashion applications, such as print layouts, branding elements, and presentation boards.
Basic knowledge of sustainable and ethical fashion practices, especially upcycling and responsible material application.
Strong sketching and visualization skills, with attention to detail and an appreciation for indigenous craft traditions.
Relevant educational background in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline.
Ability to collaborate effectively with artisans and team members, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines on-site
Ability to be self motivated, authenticaly innovative, passionately hard working and should have
clarity to translate ideas into commercially viable products.
Quick learner, team worker, looking to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
