Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata, responsible for overseeing day-to-day logistics operations and ensuring smooth supplies workflows. This position includes planning and monitoring logistics schedules, coordinating with procurement and logistics, and managing inventory to meet customer requirements on time. The Operations Manager will lead and support operational staff, implement safety and quality standards, and track performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. The role also involves resolving operational issues, optimizing processes and resources, preparing regular reports for management, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support strategic and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Strong operations management capabilities, including production planning, process optimization, and workflow coordination.
Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments, preferably within materials, engineering, or related sectors.
Proficiency in using spreadsheets, ERP or inventory systems, and basic data analysis tools for tracking operational performance.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage staffing schedules, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
Knowledge of quality standards, compliance requirements, and safe work practices in plant operations.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Management, or a related field; relevant certifications in operations or supply chain are an advantage.
Prior experience as an Operations Manager, Production Supervisor, or similar leadership role is highly beneficial.
