Overview
Lovely Professional University seeks an experienced Civil Construction person to lead planning, delivery, maintenance, and quality assurance of large-scale campus infrastructure. The role will drive execution of housing townships, commercial buildings, hostels, hotels, institutional facilities, and related civil works while ensuring safety, sustainability, budget control, and alignment with the university’s master plan.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of campus construction projects, including housing townships, academic and administrative buildings, hostels, hotels, malls/retail zones, and associated infrastructure.
Develop and implement construction schedules, monitor progress against milestones, and ensure timely handover of projects.
Supervise daily site operations; enforce workmanship standards, quality control, and construction best practices.
Interpret, review, and implement engineering drawings, structural and architectural plans, specifications, and BOQs.
Coordinate cross-functionally with architects, planners, consultants, project managers, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
Conduct regular site inspections and technical reviews; identify risks and implement remedial actions and value-engineering solutions.
Manage procurement planning, materials inspection, logistics, and verification of contractor invoices and deliverables.
Prepare and submit periodic site reports, progress schedules, budget updates, change orders, and compliance documentation.
Ensure strict adherence to HSE protocols, statutory regulations, and sustainability practices (waste management, energy-efficient designs, green building considerations).
Mentor and lead site engineering teams, contractors’ supervisors, and external consultants; set KPIs and oversee performance appraisals.
Support long-term campus asset management: preventive maintenance planning, lifecycle costing, and renovation strategies.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; advanced degree (M.Tech/MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) preferred.
Extensive construction experience (10+ years preferred) with proven leadership of large-scale projects such as townships, institutional campuses, hotels, commercial complexes, or malls.
Strong technical knowledge of structural works, MEP coordination, site execution methodologies, quality control, and contract management.
Experience with project planning tools, scheduling software, and construction management systems.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendor relationships, and multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.
