Role Description The Area Manager IFA (Independent Financial Advisors) will be responsible for developing and managing a network of IFAs in the Chennai region, working on-site from the local office and in the field. This role includes identifying, onboarding, and nurturing IFAs, driving sales of the company’s investment and financial products, and ensuring achievement of regional business targets. The Area Manager will conduct regular meetings, trainings, and product briefings for IFAs, support them with market insights and research-based recommendations, and help enhance their productivity and client servicing standards. The position also involves monitoring performance metrics, preparing periodic business reports, coordinating with internal product and operations teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies.
Qualifications
Strong experience in sales and distribution of financial products, preferably in mutual funds, broking, or wealth management, with a focus on managing IFAs or similar partner channels.
Good understanding of capital markets, investment products, and basic financial planning concepts, with the ability to explain them clearly to advisors and clients.
Proven relationship management skills, including stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and conflict resolution, with an ability to build long-term partnerships.
Effective communication and presentation abilities, including conducting trainings, product sessions, and business reviews for external partners.
Ability to work independently in a field-oriented, on-site role, with strong planning, time management, and territory management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Management, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., NISM, mutual fund or investment advisory certifications) are an advantage.
Prior experience in the Chennai market or South India region and familiarity with local IFA networks will be beneficial.
