Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Surat. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. The Senior Accountant will oversee accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and finalizing books of accounts, assisting in tax planning and return filings, supporting statutory and internal audits, and preparing detailed financial analyses for management and clients. The role also involves mentoring junior team members, improving accounting processes, and collaborating with partners and clients on financial queries and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in core accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and closing activities.
Solid understanding of taxation, compliance, and current accounting standards, with experience in handling audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions.
Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP software, along with good command of Excel and other MS Office tools for reporting and analysis.
Ability to review and interpret financial data, prepare management reports, and provide clear, data-backed insights and recommendations.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders in a professional manner.
Prior experience in a public accounting firm or similar professional services environment is highly beneficial.
Relevant professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent, or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
