ROLE OVERVIEW
The Junior Analyst will play a critical support role within Graystone Capital’s financial analyst team, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely availability of financial data. This entry level role is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, numerically proficient, and eager to build a career in corporate finance and investment analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Entry & Accuracy
Accurately enter financial data from source documents into spreadsheets and internal systems
Prepare, review, and complete internal documentation, including one-pager checklists and supporting forms, to facilitate due diligence, compliance verification, and internal approval processes.
Verify and cross check entered data for completeness, consistency, and correctness before submission
Maintain data integrity across all files and flag discrepancies to the reporting manager immediately
Ensure zero error data standards through structured double-checking routines
Financial Spreading
Spread financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) from client documents into standardized excel templates
Perform working capital and ratio calculations including liquidity ratios, leverage ratios, and profitability metrics as directed
Assist in maintaining and updating financial models and analytical templates used by the senior team
Data Collation & Reporting
Collect and consolidate financial data from multiple sources including client submissions, third-party databases, and internal files
Organize collated data into structured formats ready for analysis by senior analysts
Draft bank-specific credit proposal templates by analysing financial, operational, and business information to support comprehensive credit assessment, risk evaluation, and lending recommendations.
Prepare & populate summary sheets, trackers, and dashboards for ongoing deals and client portfolios
Support preparation of transaction teasers, information memoranda, internal MIS and credit notes on a regular basis
Documentation Management
Maintain well organized and up to date documentation system for all client financial data and deal documents
Assist in compiling document checklists and ensuring all required financial information is on track
Coordinate with senior team members to track and follow up on data requirements from clients
Coordinate and correspond with lenders on documentation support
Quality Control & Compliance
Adhere to internal data quality standards and review protocols at all times
Maintain confidentiality of all client’s financial information in line with company policies
Ensure all work is completed within agreed timelines and flagged proactively if delays are anticipated
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (M. Com / MBA Finance or equivalent)
1–2 years of experience in financial data handling, accounting, credit or a related role
Working knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas), MS Word
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Financial data entry and spreading
Basic understanding of accounting concepts
Basic knowledge of credit and trade finance products
Understanding of financial statements — P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
