Role Description The Assistant Professor – Anaesthesia Technology (B.Sc. in OTAT) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mandi, . The role involves delivering lectures, tutorials, and practical demonstrations in anaesthesia technology and operating theatre and anaesthesia techniques (OTAT) to undergraduate students. The Assistant Professor will design and update course materials, prepare lesson plans, supervise laboratory and clinical training, and ensure adherence to academic and professional standards. Responsibilities include mentoring students, guiding projects, supporting internships or clinical postings, and contributing to curriculum development and academic committees. The role also involves engaging in research and scholarly activities, participating in departmental meetings, and supporting accreditation and quality assurance processes.
Qualifications
Advanced academic background in Anaesthesia Technology or a related discipline (preferably M.Sc. or higher in Anaesthesia Technology, OTAT, or Allied Health Sciences) with a strong understanding of operating theatre and anaesthesia procedures.
Demonstrated teaching abilities in higher education, including experience with classroom instruction, practical skills training, and student mentoring in clinical or academic settings.
Familiarity with curriculum development, academic planning, and assessment methods, including the design of lesson plans, examinations, and evaluation tools.
Strong research orientation, with interest or experience in clinical research, academic publications, or evidence-based practice in anaesthesia technology or allied health fields.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clinical partners, and diverse student groups.
Commitment to professional ethics, student-centered teaching, continuous learning, and adherence to institutional and regulatory guidelines.
Registration with relevant professional bodies and prior clinical experience in anaesthesia or operating theatre settings will be considered an advantage.
Proficiency in basic computer applications, learning management systems, and digital teaching tools to support blended and technology-enhanced learning.
