Role Description The Assistant Professor (Architecture) role is a full-time, on-site position based at RIMT University in Punjab, India. The role involves delivering lectures, studios, and tutorials in architecture and related disciplines, guiding students through design projects, critiques, and portfolio development. The faculty member will supervise student research, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in academic planning and accreditation activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating student performance, providing academic mentoring, engaging in scholarly research or practice-based projects, and collaborating with colleagues on departmental initiatives. The role also includes participation in university events, committees, and outreach activities that strengthen the architecture program and its industry linkages.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to teach core and studio-based courses.
Proficiency in Landscape Architecture and Interior Design, and the capability to integrate these areas into multidisciplinary teaching.
Demonstrated Research skills in architecture or related fields, including the ability to guide student research and contribute to scholarly work.
Relevant academic qualifications, preferably a Master’s degree or higher in Architecture or an equivalent professional degree from a recognized institution.
Experience with contemporary design tools, digital drafting/modeling software, and sustainable design principles.
Effective classroom management, mentoring, and communication skills, with a learner-centered teaching approach.
Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic community and contribute to curriculum enhancement and accreditation processes.
Prior teaching or professional practice experience in architecture or allied disciplines is highly beneficial.
