Junior Engineer – Civil | Project Site
Department: Civil / Project Execution
Designation: Junior Engineer – Civil
Location: Project Site
Reporting To: Site Engineer / Assistant Manager – Civil / Construction Manager
Job Purpose
To support the site civil execution team in carrying out construction activities as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in execution and supervision of civil construction activities at the project site.
Study and understand approved drawings, BOQs, specifications, and construction methodologies.
Assist senior engineers in planning and monitoring day-to-day site activities.
Supervise activities such as earthwork, excavation, PCC, RCC, shuttering, reinforcement, masonry, plastering, flooring, foundations, and structural works.
Ensure construction work is executed as per approved drawings and technical specifications.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, surveyors, QA/QC, safety, stores, and other project teams.
Check dimensions, levels, line, and alignment of civil works with the support of the survey team.
Monitor manpower, material availability, equipment, and daily work progress.
Prepare and maintain Daily Progress Reports (DPR), site measurements, work records, and material consumption records.
Assist in quantity measurement and preparation of MBs, RA bills, and work completion records.
Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and required quality tests.
Ensure proper implementation of approved construction methods and quality procedures.
Identify site issues, deviations, and construction hindrances and report them to the reporting engineer.
Ensure compliance with project safety rules and participate in toolbox talks and safety inspections.
Maintain proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at the work location.
Support senior engineers during client/consultant inspections and site meetings.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
Maintain proper documentation of drawings, inspection requests, measurements, and site records.
Perform other civil/project-related responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.
Required Qualification
Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering
0–3 years of experience in civil construction/EPC/infrastructure projects preferred.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and basic construction measurement is desirable.
