Summary role description:
Hiring for a Senior Technical Release Manager – Product and Professional Services, at Hyderabad, for supporting both standard product releases and custom product implementations for a US-headquartered InsurTech SaaS platform client.

In this context, the role of the Senior Release Manager is business-critical, calling for deep technical expertise combined with decision-making in consultation with multiple client and internal stakeholders.

Role & responsibilities:
Upstream release readiness contribution, especially in an AWS deployment architecture context: Act as a technical gatekeeper, driving deep-dive release readiness reviews, auditing "Release Manifests" (by validating steps such as SQL migrations or PDF template migrations), temporal workflow versioning for fail-safe production, using Kafka schemas, and AWS resource configurations. A good overall understanding of deployment architecture in AWS is essential for this role.
Release Lifecycle Leadership: Hands-on release and deployment leadership of core platform production updates and for customized deployments, as per Release Calendars agreed with clients and internal product teams
Release processes design and execution, tooling, and documentation
Environment Governance: Manage "Instance Parity" across AWS multi-instance architecture to prevent "Environmental Drift" and ensuring customer-specific secrets and variables match our global standards
Cross-Functional Orchestration: Facilitate formal "Go/No-Go" decisions by tracking a global checklist that includes technical and non-technical readiness.
Risk Mitigation: Identify, document, and mitigate technical sequencing risks (e.g., database locks or stateful workflow conflicts) associated with production releases.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor release performance, generate and provide metrics and reports and drive the transition from manual coordination to Automated Production Quality Gates within our release pipelines
Requirements:
10+ years of overall technical experience, with a background in software engineering, SRE, or backend operations, preferably also with expertise in IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, and principles such as Error Budgets and SLIs/SLOs.
5+ years of direct release management experience in a complex, enterprise hybrid SaaS environment (multi-tenant and multi-instance).
AWS cloud-native release expertise, covering constructs like EKS, RDS Secrets Manager, IAM, S3, MSK, Containerization (Kubernetes (K8s), ECS or Docker and their deployment patterns (Canary, Blue-Green, or Rolling Updates).
Stack fluency in one or more of Typescript, PHP, Go-lang, Python and Node.js ecosystems, with reference to deployment nuances
Modern orchestration expertise, including in Temporal (stateful workflows) and Kafka event streaming, with the ability to deploy "in-flight" asynchronous processes, in a risk-mitigated manner. You understand the risks of
Strong database proficiency in MySQL and PostgreSQL, including in migration / transition releases
Proven communication skills especially while handling release stage gates and Go/No-go/Phased go type decisions
Experience in Insurance or FS domains – highly preferred
Deep knowledge of GRC, including SOC2/ISO, audit processes – highly preferred
