Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Developer role based in Bengaluru. The Senior Developer will design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems that power GuavaSure’s pet wellness and insurance platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, reviewing code from other team members, and optimizing applications for reliability and user experience. The role involves collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, integrating with third-party services, and ensuring secure handling of user and pet data. The Senior Developer will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve development processes and tooling.
Qualifications
Strong backend development skills (for example, in languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, or similar) and experience building APIs and microservices.
Front-end development capabilities using modern JavaScript frameworks (such as React, Vue, or Angular) and responsive UI implementation.
Experience with databases and data storage technologies, including SQL/NoSQL design, performance tuning, and schema optimization.
Knowledge of cloud platforms and DevOps practices, such as AWS/GCP/Azure, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools.
Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing (unit, integration), version control (Git), code review, and documentation.
Background in system architecture and scalability, with the ability to design secure, fault-tolerant, and high-availability systems.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional product teams.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in healthtech, insurtech, or consumer-facing platforms is a plus, as is a strong interest in pet wellness.
