Jewellery Designer: Heritage, Hand Sketching & Gouache
₹5 to 8 LPA, depending entirely on your portfolio and capability

We are a heritage high jewellery house with a legacy dating to 1789, known for antique, heritage and culture driven pieces. Our work was most recently seen on Netflix's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, and across leading couture and luxury platforms.
We are looking for a designer who does not just draw beautiful jewellery, but understands the history and craft behind it.
THE ROLE
You will work directly with the founders, karigars and the production team, starting from historical research and first concepts, through to hand sketches, gouache renderings and production ready design sheets.
Research and reinterpret historical references into original SPJ designs
Develop mood boards, motif studies and multiple design variations
Produce exceptional hand drawn sketches and detailed gouache renderings
Design necklaces, earrings, bangles, rings and other fine jewellery
Prepare design sheets covering proportion, dimensions, stone placement and articulation
Work with karigars to ensure every design is practical, wearable and true to the original vision
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Strong understanding of Nizam and Deccani jewels, Mughal and Rajput jewellery, wider Indian jewellery traditions, Indian jewellery making techniques, and Victorian jewellery
Excellent manual sketching and professional gouache rendering, which is non negotiable for this role
Working knowledge of polki, jadau and kundan construction
A refined sense of proportion, balance, colour and luxury
The judgement to tell reinterpretation apart from replication
Knowledge of CorelDRAW, Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino or Matrix is an advantage
Graduates of NIFT, Pearl Academy and other design schools in jewellery or accessory design are strongly encouraged to apply. This is not a CAD only or mass market design role. You'll be designing for HNIs, developing concepts alongside the founders and turning our loose stone inventory into beautiful jewellery.
An exceptional portfolio will outweigh years of experience. We are open to both fresh graduates with outstanding hand skills and designers with three or more years behind them.
