Job Title: Senior SAP SCM Functional Consultant
Location: Remote (India)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented SAP SCM Functional Consultant to join
our enterprise project team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and
optimizing critical supply chain collaboration processes. The ideal candidate will possess deep
expertise in SAP Scheduling Agreements, Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI), and Forecast
Sharing mechanisms, specifically integrated with modern procurement ecosystems (such as
SAP Business Network/Ariba and SAP EWM). You will collaborate closely with business
stakeholders and technical teams to streamline supplier collaboration and enhance inventory
visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Configuration: Design, configure, and maintain SAP SCM sub-
modules, focusing heavily on automated procurement and supply chain collaboration
flows.
Supplier Collaboration Optimizations: Implement and manage SAP Scheduling
Agreements, integrating them with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) to enable
automated Just-In-Time (JIT) and Forecast (FOR) releases to global suppliers.
Inventory & Forecast Management: Architect and configure Supplier Managed
Inventory (SMI) and Forecast Sharing processes to improve demand visibility and
eliminate supply chain overhead.
B2B Ecosystem Integration: Coordinate electronic data transmissions (including Order
Confirmations, Advanced Shipping Notifications (ASN), and digital Invoicing) using Cloud
Integration Gateway (CIG) or SAP Business Network integrations.
Cross-Functional Testing & Support: Author functional specifications, construct end-to-
end test cases, manage cutover planning, and provide hyper-care support during critical
deployment phases.
Required Skills & Technical Expertise
1. Specialized SCM Skills (Project Specific)
Expert-level configuration of SAP Scheduling Agreements, including JIT/Forecast
delivery schedules and automated release logic.
Hands-on experience implementing Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) and Forecast
Sharing workflows with external component vendors.
Familiarity with supplier portals or B2B platforms, specifically SAP Business Network
(formerly Ariba Network) and Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG).
Solid understanding of automated inventory movements, inbound delivery generations,
and Goods Receipts (GR) triggers in SAP EWM / Warehouse Management.
2. Core & Basic SAP SCM Foundational Skills
Strong functional knowledge of core SAP Materials Management (MM): Master Data
maintenance (Material, Vendor, Info Records, Source Lists), Purchase Requisitions, and
Purchase Orders.
Proficiency in MRP (Material Requirements Planning) logic, parameters, and
exceptions handling.
Cross-functional integration knowledge linking SCM/MM with SAP Production Planning
(PP), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Finance/Controlling (FICO).
Experience across multiple SAP application lifecycles, including SAP ECC, S/4HANA
migrations, or system upgrades.
3. Professional & Consulting Competencies
Proven ability to conduct Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), GAP analysis, and
translate complex business requirements into clean technical blueprints.
Excellent client-facing communication skills with the ability to lead workshops and align
business managers with standard SAP best practices.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills to resolve testing defects and bug fixes
during global template rollouts.
Education & Experience Requirements
Minimum of 6–8+ years of functional consulting experience in SAP SCM / MM
environments.
Participation in at least 2–3 end-to-end lifecycle implementations or major template
rollouts.
