About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
1. The opportunity
Search is changing faster than most marketing teams have adjusted to. People increasingly ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers instead of scrolling a results page — and those assistants do not invent replies. They search, pull passages out of a handful of sources, and repeat what independent sources agree on.
Which means there is a new discipline forming, usually called AEO — answer engine optimisation. Being the source an assistant quotes, rather than a link it skips. Reddit, Quora and Medium turn out to be three of the places these systems draw on most heavily, far more than their traffic would suggest.
This role is that work. You would be growing FaceEcho's presence in the places assistants actually read, so that when someone asks about a health or skin question we can answer well, we are the source that comes back.
2. Who we are
FaceEcho is an AI face-scanning app. Someone takes a guided scan and gets two things back: observations about visible health and wellness patterns, and numbered skin scores. It is not a diagnostic tool — it describes what is visible and suggests when it may be worth speaking to someone.
We are a small team running a sixty-day plan to build that visibility from close to nothing, with around seventy pages going live across it. This role runs alongside that, and continues if it works.
3. What you would own
PRESENCE WHERE THE QUESTIONS ARE ASKED Reddit, Quora, condition-specific health and skincare communities, YouTube comment sections and Medium. Hundreds of people a day ask questions we have researched answers to, and most of those threads currently get poor answers. Your job is that we are present in them, usefully.
ANSWERS WORTH QUOTING The craft of the role. Each answer is written so it stands on its own — the question answered properly in the first forty to seventy words, before any context or caveat — because it may be lifted out of the thread and shown to someone who cannot see the question. That is the difference between an answer an assistant can use and one it cannot.
THE CONVERSATION ON OUR OWN CHANNELS We publish on LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, and people ask real questions underneath. Keeping that conversation alive and useful is part of the same job.
THE MAP BETWEEN QUESTIONS AND PAGES We are publishing around seventy pages: one for each of the thirty conditions the app looks at, a set of FAQs for the questions people ask about the product — is it a diagnostic tool, does it work with makeup on, can a scan replace a blood test — and hub pages gathering each area. Knowing which page answers which question is what makes the work fast. We give you the list and keep it current.
A RECORD OF WHAT WORKS One line per post: where, what you said, whether you linked, and the URL. It takes two minutes and it is how the strategy improves.
Your answers and our pages work as a pair. The page carries the depth and is the thing an assistant can cite; your answer is that same information turned up where the question is being asked. Neither does much alone.
4. The judgement the role turns on
Most of this is judgement rather than typing: does a link help this person, or does it make the answer read as an advert?
A link belongs Someone asks what a dark ring around the neck might mean. You explain what it usually is, say plainly that a photo cannot tell them their blood sugar, and link the page that covers it properly. The link is the extra, not the answer.
A link does not Someone has just had a diagnosis and wants support. A community that asks members not to post commercial links. There you answer without one, or you leave the thread alone. Both are good outcomes.
The test: remove the link — is the answer still worth reading? Two strong answers a week are worth more than ten weak ones, and it is the strong ones that get quoted.
5. How we work
— You post as yourself, under your own name, and mention that you work with FaceEcho. Everything you write is yours.
— We talk about what is visible on a face, not about diagnosis. We give you the exact wording for anything to do with the product, so you are never guessing what is safe to say.
— We follow each community's own rules on links. Plenty of good communities do not allow them, and those are still worth being present in.
The full guide comes with onboarding. It is short, and it exists so nobody has to work this out on the fly.
6. What this role is not
— Not bulk posting. There is no target number and nobody is measured on volume.
— Not copy-paste. Every answer is written for the thread it is in. We supply the facts; the words are yours.
— Not design, video or article writing. Someone else does those.
7. Who this suits
You will do well if You write clear, natural English. You have some marketing, community or customer-support background — enough to feel the difference between helpful and salesy. You are comfortable putting your own name to what you post.
You may not enjoy it if You prefer volume targets and a script, or you find it frustrating to write something useful and not link to the product.
Experience No degree and no formal experience required. What we look at is the sample answer below. If you have wanted a way into AEO work, this is a real one — the discipline is new enough that nobody has ten years of it.
8. The practical detail
Rate $5 an hour, paid monthly.
Term Sixty days to start, reviewed at the end. If it is working, it continues.
What we give you The pages, the exact wording for anything about the product, a starting list of communities, and a short written guide. You will not be guessing.
