Lead Designer

Role Description The Lead Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for driving the creative vision and execution across digital and print projects. This role oversees end-to-end design processes, from understanding requirements and defining visual direction to creating high-quality deliverables such as brand assets, marketing collateral, web and social media creatives, and presentation materials. The Lead Designer will collaborate closely with marketing, product, and academic teams to ensure visual consistency, usability, and alignment with brand guidelines. The role requires a balance of hands-on design work, creative leadership, and strategic input into brand and experience design.
Required Core Skills
Creative & Visual Design
· Strong expertise in graphic design principles, typography, layout, color theory, and branding.
· Excellent visualization skills with the ability to convert complex ideas into clear and compelling creative concepts.
· Ability to create impactful marketing collateral, campaign assets, event branding, and executive presentations.
Video & Motion Design (Hands-on)
· Proficient in video editing, motion graphics, and short-form content creation.
· Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent tools.
· Ability to conceptualize, edit, and deliver engaging video content for digital, social, and event channels.
Other Skills
Strong visual design skills, including expertise in layout, typography, color, and composition, with the ability to translate concepts into clear, engaging designs.
Advanced proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Sketch or similar) and familiarity with preparing assets for digital and print channels.
Experience leading design projects end-to-end, including briefing, ideation, prototyping, feedback integration, and final delivery, preferably in education, tech, or consumer-facing sectors.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate design decisions effectively, and present work to stakeholders at different levels.
Demonstrated experience in brand development and maintaining visual guidelines across multiple platforms and campaigns.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work such as branding, marketing materials, digital interfaces, and campaign creatives.
Comfort mentoring and guiding other designers, managing priorities, and working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Awareness of user experience principles and responsive design practices; experience with web or product design is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru and collaborate effectively with diverse colleagues and partners.
