Java Developer (Java / Spring Boot)
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Java Developer with 2–3 years of experience in backend application development using Java and Spring Boot. The candidate will work on scalable backend services, data processing pipelines, API development, and enterprise application integrations. Experience in the Oil & Natural Gas, Energy, Utilities, or related industrial domain will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java/Spring Boot backend applications and services.
· Develop and integrate REST APIs and web services for enterprise applications.
· Build and support scheduler-based data processing and ingestion services.
· Work with relational databases, write efficient SQL queries, and support database-related development.
· Integrate backend applications with third-party systems and services using appropriate technologies.
· Troubleshoot technical issues, optimize application performance, and ensure code quality and reliability.
· Participate in Agile/Scrum activities, code reviews, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· 2–3 years of professional experience in Java/backend development with strong knowledge of Core Java and OOP concepts.
· Hands-on experience with Spring Boot/Spring Framework and development of enterprise-grade backend applications.
· Strong experience in designing and developing REST APIs and GraphQL APIs.
· Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL; exposure to TimescaleDB is a plus.
· Experience with Git-based development workflows, with basic understanding of CI/CD practices.
· Exposure to Docker/Docker Compose, caching technologies, and scheduler-based/background processing.
· Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with an understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Domain Experience
· Experience in Oil & Natural Gas, Energy, Utilities, or related industrial domains.
· Exposure to OSI PI, IP21, historian data systems, or JDBC-based integrations will be an added advantage.
· Experience integrating Java applications with Python services or other third-party systems will be preferred.
