Software Development Engineer - Job Overview
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer with 4+ years of experience who can own backend systems and services across the product lifecycle.
This role focuses on building scalable APIs, distributed systems, and high-performance backend infrastructure that powers our healthcare platform.

What You’ll Own:
Backend Systems & APIs
Design and build scalable backend services and APIs
Develop high-performance, reliable, and maintainable systems
Ensure seamless integration across internal and external services
Distributed Systems & Scalability
Build and optimize distributed systems for high availability and fault tolerance
Implement asynchronous and event-driven architectures using queues and streams
Design systems for observability, resilience, and graceful failure
Data & System Performance
Work with SQL and NoSQL databases for transactional and high-scale workloads
Optimize system performance across application, database, and infrastructure layers
Ensure efficient data handling and system throughput
Cloud & Infrastructure
Build and deploy services on AWS, GCP, or Azure
Work with containerization technologies such as Docker (Kubernetes is a plus)
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems
Engineering Excellence
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Participate in code reviews and improve engineering standards
Take ownership of services from development through deployment and production
What We're Looking For:
Must Have
4+ years of backend development experience
Strong proficiency in Python, NodeJS, or Go
Experience building and operating production backend systems and APIs
Solid understanding of distributed systems and system design fundamentals
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Ability to take ownership and work independently on complex problems
Nice to Have
Experience with message brokers like Kafka or similar systems
Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems
Exposure to healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, or HIPAA
Experience integrating with EHR/EMR systems or healthcare APIs
Experience working on high-scale or data-intensive systems
