Role Description The Research Intern role at IISc is an on-site position based in Bengaluru. The intern will assist faculty and research staff with ongoing projects, including literature reviews, data collection, data analysis, and documentation of results. Responsibilities may include preparing reports or presentations, contributing to experimental design or simulations, and maintaining research records in accordance with institutional standards. The intern will collaborate with research teams, attend group meetings, and engage with interdisciplinary initiatives as required. This is an internship role designed to provide hands-on research experience and exposure to advanced scientific and technological work.
Qualifications
Strong research aptitude, including ability to review scientific literature, formulate research questions, and summarize findings clearly.
Analytical and quantitative skills, such as basic data analysis, statistics, or computational methods relevant to the research area.
Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to prepare concise reports, notes, and presentations.
Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate research documentation.
Enrollment in or recent completion of a relevant undergraduate or graduate program in science, engineering, or a related discipline.
Ability to work collaboratively in diverse research teams and follow ethical and safety guidelines in laboratory or computational environments.
Familiarity with common productivity tools and, where applicable, basic programming, lab techniques, or domain-specific software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, data analysis tools) is an advantage.
Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new methods and technologies in an advanced research setting.
