Choosing a college is one of the larger decisions a family in Purvanchal makes, and they rarely make it from a brochure. They make it in conversation, and then by coming to see the place. Our own records bear that out plainly: a family that visits the Babatpur campus is far more likely to enrol than one that only ever fills a form.
So this is a counselling role in the real sense. You will help a student and their parents work out which of our seventeen programmes actually fits — what the student can get into, what it costs, what it leads to — and then bring them to campus to see it for themselves.
It is also a role with a number attached. You will be responsible for campus visits booked and admissions closed, and those numbers are looked at openly each week. Good counselling that never results in a visit helps nobody, and we would rather say that plainly now than discover we disagree later.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗗𝗢
𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆
· Understand what the student actually wants before recommending anything — the programme that suits them, not the one with seats to fill
· Take families through eligibility, fee structure, instalments and scholarships across seventeen programmes, from B.A. to the AICTE-approved MBA and the PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS
· Hold your own in a postgraduate conversation — an MBA or M.Com applicant will ask about specialisations, approvals, admission routes and what the degree leads to, and expects a credible answer
· Say so when BITE is not the right fit. It costs us one admission and saves a student two years
𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝘆 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝘆
· Call new enquiries within the hour they arrive, during working hours. Of everything in this job, speed is the strongest thing you personally control
· Treat WhatsApp as a conversation rather than a broadcast — a large share of our WhatsApp enquiries currently never reach a human, and closing that gap is part of why this post exists
· Follow up on a sensible cadence, and know when a number has gone cold
𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀
· Turn genuine conversations into dated campus visits — a specific time, a named person to meet, the location sent, and what to bring so the admission can be completed the same day
· Confirm the day before and again on the morning. A family that says it will visit "sometime" has not booked anything
· Involve the parents. In our market the decision is made by the family together
𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁, 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱
· Receive walk-in families at the campus — our highest-converting moment — and give them a real conversation
· Complete admissions end to end: documents, forms, fee counter, handover into student records
· Log every call, message and visit in our CRM on your phone, the same day. An unlogged conversation cannot be picked up by a colleague and effectively did not happen
· Ask every family how they first heard about BITE, and record it. We are building this properly for the first time
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥
𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹
· Postgraduate degree in any discipline. A graduate with exceptional counselling experience will still be considered, but the preference is real — postgraduate applicants to our MBA, M.Com and MA programmes expect to be advised by someone who has been through it
· Strong spoken and written Hindi and English. Most of our families are from Purvanchal and eastern Bihar, and the conversation that matters usually happens in Hindi
· At least two years of counselling, advising, admissions or student-facing work where you were responsible for an outcome and not only a process
· Genuine ability to guide and mentor — to listen first, ask the right questions, and give honest advice to a nervous eighteen-year-old and a cautious parent in the same conversation
· Comfortable using a phone-based CRM daily, and disciplined about logging
· Willing to own the visit and admission numbers, and to review them openly each week
· Based in Varanasi or willing to relocate. This is an on-site role at Babatpur, and Saturdays are working days in admission season
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱
· Experience in a college, university or institute admissions team, rather than a purely target-driven sales floor
· Background in psychology, education, social work or management — any discipline that trains you to counsel
· Familiarity with UP admission cycles, CUET and CUET-PG, and MGKVP or AKTU processes
· A track record you can state in numbers: how many admissions, over what period, from what volume of enquiries
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗔𝗦𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗢
Overstate placements, promise outcomes we cannot evidence, or push a family toward a programme that does not suit the student. Our published admissions material is deliberately conservative about what it claims, and counsellors are held to the same line. A student who enrols on a false promise leaves within a year, and we would rather not have enrolled them.
