Admission Counsellor, on campus at BITE Varanasi (Babatpur). Full-time, Mon-Sat, βΉ16,000 to βΉ25,000 a month. For post-graduates fluent in Hindi and English.
Families from across Purvanchal and Bihar call BITE with one question: "Is this the right course for my child?" Many of these students are the first in their family to go to college, and they usually decide together with a parent. The person who takes that call shapes the decision. We are hiring that person, and we may appoint more than one.
This is more than a reception desk or a calling seat. You counsel families, and you own each enquiry through to admission. Front desk and back office are two halves of this one job, not two separate posts.
THE ROLE
Very few admissions are decided on the phone. Most are decided when the family visits the campus and speaks to someone they trust. Your job is to earn that visit, host it well, and make sure nothing is dropped in the follow-up and paperwork.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Front desk:
β’ Call back new enquiries from the website, WhatsApp, ads and phone quickly. The speed of the first call-back matters.
β’ Counsel on the phone. A parent calls from Ballia about B.Ed for their child. A B.Com graduate from Buxar asks on WhatsApp whether an MBA is worth it. You answer both honestly and invite them to the campus.
β’ When a family walks in, sit down with the student and the parent together, guide them to the right programme and show them the campus.
Back office:
β’ Follow up with discipline. Make the calls that are due today, not the ones that are easy.
β’ Explain fees and scholarships clearly, check documents, and help applicants complete university portal registrations (for example MGKVP's Samarth portal) step by step over the phone.
β’ Close the day clean: every conversation logged in the CRM, every next step with a date against it.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
β’ A post-graduate degree in any discipline. This is mandatory. You will counsel applicants for our MBA, M.Com and MA programmes as well as the undergraduate ones.
β’ Fluent, confident spoken Hindi and English, and clear writing in both. On the same day you may counsel a parent in Hindi and an MBA applicant in English.
β’ Honesty in counselling: explaining eligibility, fees and scholarships accurately, even when the accurate answer is not the easy one.
β’ The patience to explain the same thing to a student and to a parent in two different ways.
β’ Comfort with phones, WhatsApp, spreadsheets and learning a CRM.
β’ Readiness to work full-time on campus at Babatpur, Monday to Saturday. The campus is near Varanasi airport; please check your commute before applying.
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
β’ You can take personality development or communication classes for our students. Counsellors who can may be asked to take such sessions.
β’ Experience in career counselling or career guidance. BITE runs an on-campus career-guidance programme, CareerArc, which you may be asked to support.
β’ Experience organising activities for degree-level students: clubs, events, workshops.
β’ Experience of counselling first-generation college-goers and their parents.
Prior experience is welcome but not essential. We will consider a post-graduate at the start of their career if the communication is genuinely excellent.
VARANASI CONNECTION
Candidates based in Varanasi, or with roots here (hometown, family, or studied at BHU, MGKVP or another Varanasi institution), are especially encouraged to apply. BITE alumni with a post-graduate degree are welcome. All qualified candidates are considered.
