Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Academic Counsellor role based in Kozhikode. The Academic Counsellor will guide prospective and current learners in selecting appropriate courses such as CA, ACCA, CMA, CS, and related programs, based on their goals and academic background. Daily responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, explaining course structures and learning pathways, and helping learners plan their study schedules. The role also involves following up with leads, maintaining accurate records of counseling interactions, coordinating with faculty and administrative teams, and contributing to student engagement and retention initiatives. The Academic Counsellor will represent Catalyst’s values in every interaction, ensuring a supportive and inclusive experience for all learners.
Qualifications
Ability to provide academic guidance, career counseling, and course selection support tailored to individual learner needs.
Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills to build trust with students and families.
Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple counseling sessions, follow-ups, and documentation efficiently.
Comfort with using basic computer applications, CRM or student management systems, and online communication tools.
Knowledge or interest in commerce-related professional courses such as CA, ACCA, CMA, CS, and related qualifications.
Prior experience in academic counseling, student support, or education services is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in commerce, education, psychology, or related fields is preferred.
