## About the Role
We are looking for a **Network Test Engineer – Cybersecurity** to join our engineering/QA team and help validate the **performance, reliability, interoperability, and security** of networking and cybersecurity products.
The ideal candidate will have strong networking fundamentals, hands-on experience with network/security testing, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to automate test scenarios using **Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages**.
## Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and execute test plans for networking and cybersecurity products.
* Perform **functional, integration, regression, performance, scalability, and interoperability testing**.
* Test networking protocols and technologies including **TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, VPN, VLAN, NAT, routing, and switching**.
* Test security products such as **firewalls, IDS/IPS, secure gateways, VPNs, proxies, and network-monitoring solutions**.
* Create realistic network traffic and security/attack scenarios to evaluate product behavior and resilience.
* Develop and maintain automated test cases and integrate automation into **CI/CD pipelines**.
* Analyze **packet captures, logs, alerts, and system metrics** to troubleshoot issues and identify performance bottlenecks.
* Reproduce customer-reported issues and collaborate with developers on **root-cause analysis and defect resolution**.
* Set up, configure, and maintain physical and virtual network test environments.
* Document test results, defects, risks, and release-readiness recommendations.
* Participate in product requirement and technical design reviews.
* Continuously improve test methodologies, automation, tools, and quality standards.
## Required Skills & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Telecommunications**, or a related field.
* **4–7 years of experience** in network testing, system testing, quality engineering, or a similar role.
* Strong understanding of the **OSI model, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and application-layer protocols**.
* Hands-on experience with **Linux** and network troubleshooting.
* Experience with network testing/troubleshooting tools such as **Wireshark, tcpdump, iPerf, Nmap, Spirent, Ixia**, or equivalent.
* Hands-on experience testing **firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, proxies, or network-security products**.
* Programming/scripting experience with **Python, Bash, or equivalent**.
* Familiarity with **test automation frameworks, Git/version control, defect-tracking tools, and CI/CD**.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate complex, multi-layer issues.
* Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with cloud networking in **AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud**.
* Knowledge of **VMware, KVM, Docker, or Kubernetes**.
* Familiarity with **IPv6, BGP, OSPF, IPsec, SSL/TLS, SD-WAN, or Zero Trust** architectures.
* Exposure to **vulnerability assessment, penetration-testing concepts, and common network attacks**.
* Experience with **REST APIs and API-testing tools**.
* Certifications such as **CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Security+**, or equivalent.
* Experience working in **Agile/Scrum** engineering environments.
